Sir Richard Berney, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Berney and Juliana Gawdy.1 He married Anne Smallpage, daughter of Michael Smallpage.2 He died in 1668.2 His will was probated on 21 January 1669.2
Sir Richard Berney, 1st Bt. was created 1st Baronet Berney, of Parkehall in Redham, co. Norfolk [England] on 3 May 1620.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Norfolk from 1622 to 1623.2
