Sir Richard Berney, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Berney, 2nd Bt. and Sarah Tyrell.1 He married Dorothy Branthwayte, daughter of William Branthwayte.1 He died in May 1706.1 His will (dated 10 September 1705 to 29 April 1706) was probated on 5 February 1713/14.1

Sir Richard Berney, 3rd Bt. succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Berney, of Parkehall in Redham, co. Norfolk [E., 1620] in 1693.1 He lived at Kirby Bedon, Norfolk, England.1
