In the name of God Amen The one and twentieth day of June Anno Domini one thousand sixe hundred forty ffower And in the twentieth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of Kinge of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland defender of the faith ??

I Anthony Garrett of Laiston in the County of Hertf Sherman being in perfect health and memory thankes be given unto Allmighty God for the same yet knowing the uncertayntie and instability of this present life doe therefore in this good tyme of health and memory make and ordayne this my present last will and testament in manner and forme following

ffirst and principally I commend my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Maker trusting only to be saved by and through the meritts death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer And my bodie to the Earth from whence it came

Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my wife All my ffreeholds Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever scituate lying and being in the parishes and feilds of Laiston Aspedon Widdieill and Throckinge or elsewhere in the sayd County of Hertf for and during the terme of her naturall life if shee keepe her selfe a widdowe and unmarried And after her decease or marriage

I give and bequeath the Messuage or Tenement Howses yardes barksides and other thappurtences thereto belonging now in my occupacon and all my freeholds lands meadowe and pasture whatsoever to my sonne John Garrett his heyres and Assignes for ever Item

I give and bequeath to the sayd John Garrett my sonne All my workeing tooles and implements about my shopp or belonging to my trade to be delivered unto him imediately after my decease

Item I give to my sonne Anthony Garrett one shillinge of lawfull money of England to be paid to him within one moneth after my decease

Item I give and bequeath to Mary my daughter now the wife John Plomb the messuage or tenement and barkside with thappurtences now in the tenure or occupacon of Edward Arnewell after the decease

or marriage of my sayd wife To her and heires forever

Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my daughter the messuage or Tenement and yarde with thappurtences now in the tenure of ffrancis Browne after the decease or marriage of my sayd wife to her and her heyres forever

All the rest of my goods chattells cattell and moveables my debts being paid and my funerall expences discharged I give and bequeath to the sayd Elizabeth my wife whome I make and ordayne the sole Executrix of this my present last will and Testam’t And I doe hereby farther declare my will and meaning to be that if it shall fortune the sayde Elizabeth my wife to departe this life before mee and noe other will hereafter by mee made Then I make and ordayne the sayd John Garrett my sonne to be the sole Executor of this my last will in wittnes whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and put to my seale Anthony Garrett These being witnessed and sealed published and delivered in the presence of John Warde and Clement ??ard
