From the Aerofilms series number 25947 more details can be found here, this example is postmarked 1932.
F. Frith of Reigate showing Layston Church, no series number on the reverse but also no roof on the Nave which makes the photo after 1953.
Published by E.E.Darville the stationers in Buntingford this card is postmarked Buntingford and dated as 27th Aug 1908. Listed on the front of the postcard as 'Layston Church, Buntingford' this appears to be from a different print run to the second postcard on this page from the same source.
Again published by E.E.Darville the stationers in Buntingford with a postmark of Buntingford on 29th July 1908. Very similar to the first postcard - the difference being the credit for the stationers is on the front of the card rather than the reverse, the same image is used on both cards.
This card is an un-used example of one published by A.G.Day of Buntingford - series number 171890. For some reason there is part of a Hertfordshire postmark on the blank side of the card.
A later picture this time of Laytson Church from H Clarke of Buntingford, posted in Buntingford and dated 8th September 1906
A c1934 image showing the picket fence and access path from the roadway up to the avenue of lime trees on the site.
Another un-used card this time from F. Frith of Reigate showing Buntingford High Street.
A nice postcard from Robert H Clark's series posted in Buntingford and dated 26th July 1906 showing the river that caused Layston church it's access problems in the past, along with the bridge that crosses it and the brick building known as the Cage.
A postcard from Clark's Series again this time in mint condition showing a view North up the High Street of Buntingford
A postcard from the Frith series showing part of the river not so easy to identify on this occasion. No postmark on this one but the stamp was available between 1952 & 1967
If you have a postcard of Buntingford or Layston we would love copies of them to place on the site with these examples.
