1. A white nowy-headed rectangular tablet set against a conforming black ground. A large weeping branch is carved above the inscription which is incised in roman-style caps of varying sizes with some sloped lettering. A carved shield of arms is placed just below the inscription tablet and overlaps the black ground. Some of the painted tincture is now lost.
   
   Blazon          Gules on a chevron Argent between three estoiles Or, as many lozenges of the field [BUTTS] (ref a)
   
   The sculptor’s name is incised in caps on the front E side at the bottom of the ground:
