Will of Barnard Turner

I Bernard Turner of Layston in the county of Hertford Esquire being of sound mind and memory blessed be God doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner following ffirst

I give and devise unto my son Thomas Turner and his heires All and singular my Mannors Messuages Advowsons Donations Presentations Right of Patronage Lands Tenements hereditaments and premises whatsoever in the parishes of Layston Aspeden Widyall great Hormead little Hormead Anesty and Throcking or any other Townes or Parished in the county of Hertford And Allso all and every my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments in the city of London and Westminster or elsewhere within the Kingdome of England to have and to hold to him the said Thomas Turner and his heires upon the speciall Trusts and confidence hereby reposed in him (that is to say) that the said Thomas Turner and his heires doe pay and discharge all and singular my just debts of what nature soever oweing from mee to any person or persons whosever

And Allso to doe pay and discharge the severall portion and portions and annuityes hereafter mentioned (that is to say) to my Daughter Mary Turner the sume of one thousand pounds of lawfull English money within six months next after my decease

to my daughter Elizabeth Turner the sume of ffive hundred pounds of like lawfull English money within six months next after my decease

to my daughter Lettice Turner the sume of ffive hundred pounds of like
lawfull English money at her age of one and twenty yeares or day of marriage which shall first happen

I give and devise likewise unto my Brother William Turner one Annuity or yearly rent charge of tenn pounds to be paid him half yearely at Lady day and Michmas by even portions during his life

I give and devise likewise unto my Mother Lettice Taylor one Annuity or yearely rent charge of Twenty pounds in full satisfaction of what shee cann or may in any wise pretend or claime to out of my Estate to be paid ^her^ half yearely at Lady day and Michmas By even portions after my decease during her naturall life and my will and mind is and

I doe hereby charge and make chargeable all and singular my aforesaid Mannors Messuages Advowsons Donations Presentations Right of Patronage Lands Tenements and Hereditaments hereinbefore by me Devised to my said Sonne Thomas Turner and his heires with the payment of my said debts daughters portions and annuities given and bequeathed as aforesaid and for the better enabling him to performe the same doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne Thomas Turner all my stock and personall estate whatsoever, and doe make the said Thomas Turner and Mary Turner sole executors of this my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have set to my hand and seale the tenth day of August in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and ninety six Bernard Turner signed, sealed, published delivered and declared as the last Will and Testament of the said Bernard ^Turner^ by the Testator himself who subscribed his name in the presence of us who subscribed our names and Witnesses in his presence
